Custom build developer igloo, in collaboration with construction services company Carillion, has inducted six ‘teams’ to offer a wide array of design choices on 54 custom build dwellings; part of a 150-home scheme at the Trevenson Park South site near Redruth.
The partnerships are: architects Ash Sakula with building contractors EaseBuild and timber frame manufacturers Frame UK; architects AOC with Cathedral Builders; architects/developers Dwelle; Mae architects with prefabricated house specialists Riko; design consultancy HTA Design with kit home manufacturer Potton; and architects White Design with Cadfan Developments and straw building company Modcell.
Project leaders Carillion Igloo readied a detailed planning application in the summer and now the first plots – costing around £50,000 each – are set to be released in the spring of next year, with the cost of building each home said to be in the region of £120,000. The target completion date for the scheme is December 2017.
Jon Sawyer, Head of Custom Build at Igloo and the National Custom & Self Build Association’s Custom Build Representative, said: “We’re delighted to be launching our Home Manufacturer Panel for Cornwall which is another important step towards getting houses coming out of the ground in 2015.”
Trevenson Park was one of seven custom build sites first identified by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and revealed by the Government in 2012 as part of its wider efforts to help double the size of the sector.
