Brandon Lewis, the Conservative MP for Great Yarmouth, has retained his position as the Minister of State for Housing and Planning at the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), following a cabinet reshuffle.

This news comes despite early reports that suggested Mark Francois, the current Minister of State for the Armed Forces, would be taking over. However, a DCLG spokesperson has confirmed that Lewis would remain as Housing Minister in David Cameron’s new cabinet.
Mr Lewis was appointed in July 2014. A notable moment of his 10-month tenure came in March earlier this year when he wrote to all councils in England calling on them to recognise the demands of people who wish to build their own homes.
He will report to Greg Clark, the new Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, who replaced Eric Pickles in the government reshuffle.
