A team of consultants has been appointed by the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) to gauge the level of demand there may be for self/custom build homes on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

There is an online survey posted on the LLDC website which asks Londoners what sort of homes they would like to build on the Park.

As this is an urban site, there won’t be individual building plots – the homes will be terraced or in apartment blocks. At this stage there is no commitment to build anything, as the LLDC is not sure that there is much demand.

Dennis Hone, Chief Executive of the London Legacy Development Corporation, said: “We want to create successful communities on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park by offering a diverse range of housing that attracts everyone.

Mr Hone added that self/custom build homes would offer residents a bigger hand in being involved in the construction of their home. “This survey is a chance for people to tell us whether they would be interested in being involved”, he said.

The survey runs until 9 April. The Legacy Corporation will then assess the results for the future development of the Park.
