There’s less than a week to go before Graven Hill launches plots for sale nationally on 22nd August.
As the UK’s largest planned custom and self build development to date, the project has understandably garnered attention and interest from would-be self builders nationwide. However, as the Cherwell District Council was keen to involve as many local residents as possible, those living within the catchment were given a six week window ahead of the national release to show interest.
Ten plots are being released initially as part of first Phase 1A. Buyers will purchase a ‘Golden Brick’, which includes the plot, foundations and a structural warranty. Many more plots will be released over the coming months (and years) to form part of the 10-year development plan that is looking to enable 1,900 new homes on the site.
Philip Singleton, managing director of the Graven Hill Village Development Company, said: “The response so far from local people is very pleasing, which I believe reflects a recognition of the potential at Graven Hill. Because we are offering new and simpler ways to build your own home, and we offer plenty of support, self build at Graven Hill is an attractive and realistic option for many more people.”
