A scheme of five homes that can be customised to suit has been launched in South London.

Developer Inhabit Homes has unveiled five two-to-five-bed custom build terraced homes on Blenheim Grove, Peckham. The properties are being built to a watertight shell stage: finished externally with internal structural walls/floors and services. People can then customise the homes by selecting options such as flooring, bathroom/kitchen specifications and sustainability features. All the homes come with a roof terrace and the two largest feature a courtyard garden.

The project, first earmarked last January, has already received healthy interest with two of the five homes – priced from £599,995 – already under offer.

Commenting on the scheme – supported by the Mayor Of London’s ‘Build Your Own Home The London Way‘ fund – Inhabit’s Gus Zogolovitch said: “75% of us would never buy a new build home. I think that’s partly because we don’t want the mass-produced product built by the volume house-builders. Our homes are the most expensive thing we ever buy, yet how many of us get to choose how our homes are laid out, what floor finish we have and how much we want to spend on a new kitchen.

“With custom build, we put less in and let the owner do it. Doing it yourself tends to be better for you, cheaper and more satisfying.”
