Work is underway on a sustainable new addition to Norfolk’s self build scene

30 July 2016

Mole Architects together with Beattie Passive are underway with a self build project in Waxham to create a family home to Passivhaus standards.

The project is set to create an 130sqm single-storey dwelling, situated in an idyllic location in the Norfolk Countryside. The property will be built using an off-site manufactured system, meaning the shell will be precision engineered, and the on-site build time will be at a minimum. For self builders interested in completing their own sustainable development, there is an opportunity to visit the project while it undergoes construction from the 22nd-25th August. Mole is no stranger to Passivhaus developments, having created a 690sqm affordable housing scheme in 2014. The development featured four semi-detached two and three-bedroom houses, two of which were certified to Passivhaus standard. The scheme was also located in Norfolk, and was designed to fit seamlessly with the local vernacular.
