Morris Homes has been appointed as the preferred partner by the Milton Keynes Development Partnership for the scheme, which will include 15 serviced plots on a brownfield site at Atterbury, to the north-west of Milton Keynes.

The plots, each c.0.12 acres in size, could feature either semi-detached or detached homes, the appearance of which would need to follow a design code. Once the self builders have constructed the homes, they would need to commit to staying in the homes for at least two years. Prices for the plots have yet to be determined.

Dave Bignell, Morris Homes land director, says: “We are looking forward to commencing as soon as possible. We have some exciting plans in place. The housing types will meet the needs of local people and will create a dynamic new community for Milton Keynes.”

A planning application has yet to be submitted. However, it is likely that work will start on site in 2016 for completion in 2017.
