A housing development earmarked for a site in South Derbyshire will set aside a portion of land for people to customise their own homes.
{TEASER}
Land development consultancy Land and Partners has already gained outline planning permission to deliver a scheme of 60 houses on land east of Acresford Road, Overseal. It considered an allocation of serviced self build plots but has decided to include custom build homes instead; around 6-10 in total, with a mixture of two-bedroom bungalows and two to three-bedroom terraced homes. Retail units are also proposed together with a public open space and balancing pond.
A consultation has already been held with residents and it is anticipated that a detailed planning application will be submitted in September. If successful, then Land and Partners will invite tender bids to build the homes, with the completed dwellings coming to market during spring 2016.
