The first ever ‘National Self Build Week’ is now only three weeks away with a wide-ranging programme of events currently being planned. It is hoped that support of the Week will help promote self build and help to grow the industry.

National Self Build Week is being organised by the National Self Build Association and Grand Designs Live, and is supported by the Department for Communities and Local Government. It happens from 4-12 May and coincides with the huge Grand Designs Live exhibition that takes place at ExCeL in London.

The National Self Build Week Action Handbook suggests ideas on how to plan activities.

Register your activity

Once activities have been planned, they can then be registered with the National Self Build Week team. They are asking everybody to register with detail including contact details and activity description by emailing nsbw@nasba.org.uk. A list showing some of the events already planned is on the National Self Build Week homepage.

There is still time to plan something, and the National Self Build Week team are encouraging individuals, businesses and educational establishments to put something together, no matter how big or small, to make the occasion special.
